Techniques for Healthy Green Grass

A great lawn care tip that can make a difference to the quality of your lawn is to use a bagless mulching lawn mower when you cut the grass. A mulching mower recuts the grass into smaller clippings and as these grass clippings decay, they provide important nutrients for your lawn. Grass clippings should not be raked up or bagged unless the grass was extremely long and the grass clippings come out of the mower in heavy, wet clumps.

Water is the single most important ingredient for the sustenance of life, including lawns. Food, of course, would come next in line. For proper lawn care, you should also plan to provide that food in the form of fertilize for your lawn. The best time to start feeding your lawn is in the spring. You can use your hands but the easiest and most effective way to spread fertilizer is with a wheeled spreader. Fill the spreader with a granular fertilizer that is specifically designed for use on lawns. Spread the fertilizer back and forth over the lawn with the spreader until you have covered the entire area. If you are concerned about environmental problems from fertilizer runoff, you may want to look for organic fertilizer. For more information on organic fertilizers ask professional lawn care providers.

This tip is about the largest lawn care problem faced by most homeowners. The dreaded dandelion! This weed spreads fast if you don’t keep up with it and can do extensive damage to your lawn if it isn’t controlled immediately. Some people prefer to hand dig dandelions and other weeds, while others use a broad leaf herbicide or other weed killer to control weed growth. If you do use a chemical treatment to kill weeds, be sure you keep your children and pets off the lawn for several days after treatment.

By watering and fertilizing your lawn properly, the root system will grow deeper into the ground. This will help to expand its root system underground and prevent other root systems from weeds to take a foothold in your lawn because there is no room. If the root system underneath is thick, then the grass blades on top will also be thick, preventing any weeds from invasion.

What To Take Camping

If you are planning to go camping with friends or family, any experienced camper will tell you that planning ahead is a must. A good checklist of what to take camping can mean the difference between an enjoyable experience and complete discomfort. While each checklist will be a little different, there are a few key things that are absolute essentials. Here is a list of what you need to bring camping in general, as well as a few specifics for certain camping situations. One thing you should always keep in mind is the best camping gear or outdoor sport equipment can make a huge difference on how your trip turns out. You don’t want to skimp on your tent and end up in a puddle because you didn’t want to spend a few extra dollars to get good equipment. Keep that in mind as you go through these lists.

Outdoor Camping Shelter

A good camping experience starts with a good shelter. If you are going the tent route, these are the things you will need to have with you:

  • Tent (If you are purchasing, know that it is always a good idea to buy one designed for larger groups than the number of people who are actually camping. A family of four in a tent designed to sleep four people will have little room for moving around, changing, or anything other than sleeping.)
  • Stakes, to secure the tent to the ground
  • Hammer or mallet
  • Ground cloth to protect the underside of the tent
  • Mat or pad for entrance to the tent
  • Small broom and dustpan

Sleeping Bags And Air Mattresses

Whether you are a sleeping bag or air mattress and blanket camper, you need to make sure that you have everything you need for a comfy night’s sleep on the trail.

  • Sleeping bags rated for the appropriate warmth level
  • Air mattress and pump
  • Sleeping bag pad, if you are sleeping on the ground
  • Pillows
  • Blankets and sheets, if desired

Foods To Take Camping

Cooking is one of the best things about camping, but it can require a lot of extra cargo. Here is a list that includes everything you need to cook in the great outdoors, but you may choose to bring a lot less than this.

  • Cooking stove with adequate propane
  • Aluminum foil
  • Gallon water bottle
  • Lighter or matches
  • Pots and pans
  • plastic utensils
  • Cooking utensils
  • Oven mitt
  • Dish soap
  • Cooking spray
  • Can Opener
  • Cups or mugs
  • Paper towels
  • Seasonings, including salt and pepper
  • Ketchup and mustard
  • Any food you are preparing, carried in a cooler full of ice
  • Beverages

Clothing

Packing clothes for a camping trip can be tricky, so you need to prepare for whatever comes without going overboard. Here’s what to take camping to keep you comfortable, dry, and warm.

  • Jeans
  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Jacket
  • Coat
  • Sweatshirt
  • Hat with light
  • Underwear
  • Pajamas
  • Boots
  • Rain gear
  • Swimming suit

Of course, if you are backpacking or camping alone at a hike in campsite, your list will be much more abbreviated. In this case, you may choose to forgo a tent in favor of a bivy sack, and your list of clothing and extras will be limited to what you can carry on your back. Remember that anything you take in needs to be brought back out. So it may be to your advantage to pack as light as possible without leaving necessities behind.

Any successful camping trip should begin with careful planning and organization. One idea that is very helpful is to keep a small, plastic organizer with drawers in your garage or storage area to keep supplies easy to access and organize ahead of time. You can even bring the drawer unit with you on your camp out to help you stay neat and tidy on the trail. This type of organizer will help you easily identify what you need to take camping, what you are out of, and what you can leave behind.

What Kind of Burial Urn is Best

Many people choose to bury their deceased loved ones even though they have been cremated. They could also have a mausoleum for their past family members.

Regardless of how they will bury the cremated remains of their loved one, it is important that the fact the urn will be buried is considered.

One perspective is like any casket, burial urns should be durable enough to withstand the test of time and protect the remains they hold in its eternal rest. Another perspective is that the urn should degrade and breaks down, so as to not affect the environment.

Some burial urns for the purpose of actual burial are usually made from marble, stone, ceramics, brass or any other type of metal. These materials are all durable enough to last for eternity. And other types of burial urns are made of paper based products, sand and environmentally friendly materials.

Burial Urns for Dispersal

Many families opt for dispersing the ashes of their deceased loved one, especially when it was the specific wish of the deceased before he or she has passed on. In this case, the urn is only temporary receptacles of the remains.

What is important in choosing urns for dispersal is its ability to assist in dispersing the ashes without any problems. For example, if the dispersal will be done at sea, the burial urns should be light enough to sink into the water. This is referred to as water burial. If the dispersal will be done by air, the urn should be secure enough to handle this job.

The best choice of burial urns for dispersal is the biodegradable urn. These biodegradable urns are usually made from paper or cardboard. They are easy to handle and are secure. Most of all, they are friendly to the environment and will not cause problems, especially if they are sunk at sea.

When you choose burial urns for your loved one, it is important for you to consider how you will be taking care of his or her remains after the cremation. This will help you get the urn that is most suited to your needs.

What Museums Offer

Museums are a short cut to understanding a place, they can tell you a lot about where it’s been where it is now and where it’s going. Science Museums, Technology Museums, Natural History Museums, Art Museums, National Museums-what do you want to learn? The Art Insider has the knowledge you need about the world’s Top Museums.

You can spend hours researching a city or country before you arrive, but if you haven’t the time before you touch down, its museums are the perfect places to soak up some local atmosphere and begin to understand the workings of the place.

As well as finding out about the city or country’s history you can also learn something about the priorities of its government and inhabitants. The buildings themselves can be telling, as can the value of the collection and the kind of pieces included, but the entrance prices and way the information is displayed also say a lot about who the museum is there for.

London is the example that first comes to mind. Home of the British Museum and several others of world renown, these major museums have recently had their usability and access much improved – the key thing being that the entry fees have been scrapped. This welcomes not only those who have money to spend on their own enlightenment but also people looking for a cheap outing, and means that visitors are free to plan for several shorter visits, to look at particular pieces or galleries they may be interested in, without fear of information overload. The public spaces of the British Museum and the V&A are quite welcoming and used not solely by museum visitors, but also by local passers by enjoying a civilized surrounding for their morning coffee. Add to these two quick visits to the local Science Museum and Natural History Museum and you’ll have an excellent idea of where the city of London comes from, the story of the wealth of its empire, the life of its citizens then and now, the role it has played in international history and its priorities in the way it’s seen by both visitors and residents.

Great gift ideas

A great gift idea that will serve as a memory to a child of their baby and infant years is a personalized baby keepsake that has their name on it and possibly the date of birth as well. Some parents may be surprised about the value of providing such gifts, but especially when the child is growing and seeking a psychological sense of belongingness, these gifts help create a sense of family and community.

Personalized gifts are easy to customize and personalize and there are many gift companies that are willing to add customization to their products at no additional cost. If you are making the gift yourself, then all the better. No matter what gift it is, if it is personalized, the child’s name will be on it forever and the gift will be uniquely theirs. Here are some ideas for personalized keepsake gifts for kids.

Baby Sweats – These are a great idea for those who like to keep their kids nice and warm during cool days or winter. Some parents who graduated from an Ivy League college or university or have high ambitions for their child have the logos of the university placed on the sweats with the name of the child and the date of birth on the back.

Baby Rattler – One of the all time classic favorite gift ideas, these gifts can be purchased with personalized text at many online vendors. Simply ask the company to place the name of the child on the handle of the rattler plus the date of birth or a baby shower date.

Towels, handtowels, and face towels – These may be one of the most convenient gifts to be given away as people often need more than one of these. Ask the person in charge of monograms to place the name of the child in one corner of the towel. The child could actually grow up with the towel and use it for many years until it deteriorates. It can also be saved as a keepsake and used sparingly.

Personalized sequin pillow – Giving a personalized sequin pillow with their child’s picture as a gift to parents would be a gift to remember for sure.

Cloth diapers – Many parents use disposable diapers instead of cloth diapers due to their ease of use, but even for those parents, cloth diapers are still soft on the skin and good for wiping a baby clean. The baby cloth diapers are soft enough to wipe without leaving the skin irritated. Place the name of the child on one corner of the cloth diaper and also the date if desired.

Scrapbook – This may be unusual, but a scrapbook filled with photographs or images taken during a baby shower or a child’s birth itself is one of the simplest and most memorable ways to keep the day alive. With the scrapbook, a child or guest can look back to the time of the party and see how everyone was having fun. The child could also see their mother when she was still pregnant with them and of course the decorations and cakes used during the celebration. Place the name of the child and the birth date on the cover of the scrapbook.

Diamonds inclusions

All diamonds have inclusions, except internally flawless diamonds, and few of us have the budget to afford these!
An inclusion is an imperfection in a diamond. It’s a naturally occurring phenomenon, and can take various forms, from a tiny black pinpoint through to a white crystal effect in the stone.

Inclusions are referred to by the term ‘clarity’ of a diamond. This is one of the 4Cs of diamonds.

In a nutshell, the fewer inclusions, the better the 鑽石.

One of the most common questions, therefore, is at what point can you start to see inclusions in a diamond with the naked eye. After all, unless you buy a flawless diamond, your diamond will have inclusions, but the last thing you want when you look at the stone is to easily see these imperfections.

Firstly, bear in mind that diamonds are graded under laboratory conditions. This is why clarity is graded as Flawless, VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, SI1, SI2, and so on. But at which one of these levels are inclusions visible?

Well, the answer to this question lies in (a) the cut of the stone, and (b) the size of the stone, and (c) the position of the inclusions.

Let’s consider the cut of the diamond. Think of it this way – the more facets in the diamond, the better disguised any inclusions will be. This is why with round brilliant cuts and princess cuts, for example, you can usually go down to a clarity grade of SI1 and even SI2 and achieve an eye-clean diamond. Yes, the diamond will contain inclusions, but these diamonds are cut to maximize sparkle, and that is the first thing you will see with this diamond….sparkle, not inclusions. Emerald cut diamonds, on the other hand, have far fewer facets than round diamonds. With this cut of stone, therefore, with a clarity grade of SI1 or SI2, you probably WILL see some inclusions with the naked eye, as looking into the diamond from the top, the stone is transparent as it uses step-cut facets. Therefore, with emerald cut stones, I’d say go for a minimum clarity level of VS2, but ideally VS1+.

With regards to the size of the stone, it goes without saying that the larger the diamond, the more visible inclusions are likely to be, so bear this in mind as well.

And finally, the position of the inclusions. Again, common sense dictates that if your diamond has a big inclusion right in the middle of the diamond, then it will be more visible than if the inclusion were positioned off to the side of the stone.
